Dylan Thomas Birthplace
The Welsh poet and writer Dylan Thomas has inspired presidents, pop stars and generations of all ages around the world with his iconic works and tales of his all too short life. At 5 Cwmdonkin Drive, his birthplace and home of 23 years, you can take a step back in time and experience the surroundings of Wales’ world literary icon. With the help of a friendly and knowledgeable guide you will learn all about the Thomas family and the mischievous Swansea schoolboy who went on to set the literary world alight by the time he was 21 as the bombastic adolescent, provincial bohemian poet, the self-proclaimed ‘Rimbaud of Cwmdonkin Drive.’
5 Cwmdonkin Drive is open DAILY for house tours at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. Tours last approximately 1hr 15mins.
The house is also available for B&B and self-catering stays as well as dinner parties and as a venue for a special event - Due to the busy nature and multiple functions of the house we do advise pre-booking a guided tour by phone or email.
